Companies House has announced an enhancement to the facilities available for Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs).
LLPs must be registered with Companies House and must file an annual return, accounts and notices of changes of members just like limited companies. Until now those returns and notices all had to be filed as paper forms, but since 19 August 2010 it has been possible to file the most common LLP returns online. These include:
Annual returns
Change of members
Change of accounting date
LLPs can also now protect their identity at Companies House by joining the Protected Online Filing service (PROOF). Once registered in PROOF no paper forms that attempt to alter details of the LLP will be accept by Companies House. This provides a barrier to criminals who seek to hijack companies or LLPs by submitting fraudulent paper forms.
